Charitable Giving

Carney’s Kids Foundation, through public events and media exposure, will provide financial support and create positive publicity for not-for-profit organizations whose primary goal is to improve the lives of children. We support organizations seeking to enhance the quality of children’s lives by improving; their health, both physical and emotional, providing educational assistance, improving the environments of children living outside a family home, supporting families in need, and provide disadvantaged children with pathways to their own potential.

Our History

Carney’s Kids Foundation was established in 2006 after radio personality, John Carney, wanted to focus his energy from charity appearances into fundraising efforts that had a meaningful impact for children.

The organization’s first Executive Director was Joanie Protzel. In 2014, Suzanne Carney assumed the position of Executive Director to support the organization’s transition toward a sustainable vision. In 2015, Carney’s Kids Foundation recruited Kris Parsons to serve as its third Executive Director. Under Parsons’ leadership the organization established key processes, policies, and strategies to help the organization attain financial stability.  Mel Weith joined the Board in 2015 and assume the Executive Director’s position in 2017.

  • Erv Korte Memorial Golf Tournament - Carney's Kids were the beneficiary of this golf outing to honor Erv Korte, started by his family in 2004.

  • Irish Road Bowling - A new event to benefit the St. Louis Parks Foundation and Carney's Kids to be held in the Spring each year.  Based on an old Irish tradition in which competitors attempt to take the fewest throws to propel a metal ball along a predetermined course of country roads. The sport originated in Ireland.
